I rated your hostel recipes to find my fav!

Don’t have too much time or items to work with? But you want foods that are fun and exciting and give you a break from the daily? That is hostel food for you!  In this episode, I’ll be trying my subscriber’s hostel recipes to find the best one!

This is my YouTube original series where I try and rate your recipes in my own fun way to connect with you while we share our mutual love for food <37

1. Noodlelicious by Manjima

I’m not a plain soup person. I like soup that’s filled with lots of things and noodle soup: I absolutely love! Paired with cream and onion lays, this is a great combination. The corn soup, noodles and the chips: it’s smart. You get way more volume of food and it is really nice.

2. Macaroni Sabzi by Jahnvi

This smells exactly like a regular aloo sabzi and served on top of rice: it’s just carbs on carbs and carbs, and who doesn’t love that? It is so delicious and frying the aloo and mixing it with the spices and the pasta sauce and cooking it with maggi masala, somehow gives you this light tomato nicely seasoned sabzi which actually tastes like a proper homely Indian sabzi.

3. Masala Muri by Biva

To get max flavour, you have to mix the muri with your hands. I’ve had my fair share of masala muri but never with no seasoning or lemon juice, but this one actually tastes really nice because we are using aloo bhujia which adds that tang and achaar acts as a great lemon replacement and for how low effort this is: this tastes really, really good.

4. Chocopie Cake by Sanjana

This is so easy and fun to make and it just made me so happy looking at it. If I was living in a hostel and somebody made it for me on my birthday,  it would make me feel so good and appreciated! As a chocopie fan, I only have good things to say about this quick dessert.

5. Maggi Chappy by Hemani

This one takes 5 minutes to make. This meal actually makes sense to me because I haven’t met one person who is satisfied with only one packet of Maggi so when we bulk it up with roti and season it even more, it makes for a satiating tasty meal while still being very achievable to make.

6. Hackwich by Shreyanshi

With this recipe, I was confused with the taste but I didn’t hate it. I think fruit jam and apples are sweet and masala kurkure plus green chilli is spicy: so together it’s a sandwich which is sweet and spicy which balances the flavours. I am not sure if I will make this again for myself, but it is edible and might be someone’s yum.

7. Mac n Cheese Toast by Shreya

It takes 10 minutes to make, and the outcome is so good. It’s savoury and cheesy and I really really liked it!

Final Verdict

Chocopie cake won and I’m just saying: if you have a microwave, put the entire cake in there for like 30 seconds to a minute and the marshmallow will get melty and it’s just going to be beautiful! For savoury, I would say try any of the recipes, cause all of them are low effort and tasty!
