There are some days or rather some nights when you just need a chocolate cake and that’s all you can think about. This recipe is perfect for those times because it comes together in one bowl with ingredients you probably already have at home.
It’s completely eggless, made with yogurt and milk that keep it soft and moist. Everything just gets mixed together, microwaved for a minute and topped with chocolate while it’s still hot so it melts into a smooth layer. That’s it: no effort, no extra dishes, just quick chocolate cake happiness!

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp (13 g) brown sugar (+ 1/2 tbsp sugar if you prefer sweeter cakes)
- 1 tbsp (15 g) oil (or melted butter)
- 2 tbsp (30 g) milk
- 1/2 tbsp (7 g) yogurt (or curd)
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp (24 g) all purpose flour
- 1/2 tbsp (4 g) cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp (1.5 g) cornstach
- 1/8 tsp baking powder
- 1/16 tsp baking soda
- pinch of salt
Garnish
- 2 tbsp (30 g) dark chocolate
- flaky salt
- sprinkles
Instructions:
- In a small microwave safe bowl, add brown sugar along with all the wet ingredients: oil, milk, yogurt and vanilla. Whisk it really well until the sugar is almost dissolved and the mixture looks smooth.
- Add the dry ingredients: all purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and a pinch of salt. Whisk again till everything is well combined and you have a smooth batter.
- Microwave for 60 to 90 seconds, checking with a toothpick to see if it’s done.
- While the cake is still hot, top it with some chocolate, cover it with a lid and let it sit for a minute so the chocolate melts. Spread the melted chocolate evenly with a spoon, add sprinkles and a pinch of flaky salt and enjoy it warm. Super easy and so satisfying!
