Ingredients
Garlic Bread Dough
- 1/4 cup (60 g) water, warm
- 1/4 cup (60 g) milk, warm
- 1/2 tbsp honey (or sugar)
- 1 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 + 1/2 cup (180 g) all purpose flour
- salt to taste (approximately 1/2 tsp)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp chilli flakes
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
Garlic Butter
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- garlic powder
Serve with
- cheese sauce
Instructions:
- Proof the yeast: In a cup or small bowl, add warm milk and water and mix in the honey and active dry yeast. Let this sit for about 10 minutes till the yeast turns foamy and bubbly. This is how you know your yeast is active.
- Make the dough: In a mixing bowl add the all purpose flour and your seasonings. I use garlic powder, salt, pepper, dried parsley, oregano and a pinch of chilli flakes. Pour in the proofed yeast mixture and mix with a fork or chopsticks to form a shaggy dough. Add the melted butter and mix again.
- Knead the dough: Transfer the dough to a kneading surface and knead for 5 to 7 minutes till you have a smooth, soft ball of dough.
- First rise: Place the dough in a clean greased bowl, cover with cling film and let it rest in a warm place for about 60 to 120 minutes or till doubled in size.
- Shape the garlic bread: Punch down the dough and transfer it to a lightly floured surface. Divide it into two equal portions. Roll each portion into a circle that’s not too thin or too thick. Cut the circle in half to get two semicircles. These are your garlic bread pieces. Transfer each semicircle to parchment papers.
- Second rise: Let the shaped semicircles rest for 20 to 30 minutes till they look slightly puffy. Meanwhile, make the garlic butter.
- Make the garlic butter: In a small bowl add butter, minced garlic and dried parsley. Give it a good mix and microwave for about ten seconds so the butter melts slightly. Mix again and your garlic butter is ready.
- Flavour and score: Spread the garlic butter generously all over the dough semicircles and sprinkle garlic powder. Before baking, use a knife to make light cuts across the top to create those classic garlic bread strips.
-
Bake:
Airfryer: Airfry at 180°C for 11 to 13 minutes till golden and crisp on the outside.
Oven: Bake at 180°C for 18 to 20 minutes, depending on how golden you like it. - Finish and serve: Immediately after they come out of the air fryer or oven, brush with more garlic butter and serve hot with cheese sauce.

Omggg i js made the garlic bread, and it was delishhh. 100/10 would def recommend, it tastes pretty similar to the dominos one, if not better🤭. I must say, all the prep work is totally worth it
tbh this was my first time ever making and proofing a bread, so I was really quite excited when it rose perfectly and tasted amazing, the next I’ll make it I’ll also make a sauce to add to it
Whenever I made garlic bread I felt something was missing now I know it’s powder on top.
