Homemade Healthy Dog Cookie
It was my kid’s 5th birthday so I knew I had to make her something special for her ♡

My dog, Kookie turns 5 so I wanted to create a treat that was just for her- gluten free, refined sugar free and something with all her favourite things packed into one big kookie.
She loves carrots, bananas and peanut butter (honestly, same) and her go-to treats are flavoured with cinnamon, so I knew cinnamon had to make it into this recipe + it pairs perfectly with carrots. For frosting, I used curd and since she’s also obsessed with mangoes but can’t have much because they’re quite sweet and not ideal for dogs in large amounts, I just topped the cookie with a few tiny mango flowers.
She absolutely loved it and judging by how fast she devoured the whole thing? This kookie is definitely kookie approved hehe 🌸

Homemade Healthy Dog Cookie
Gluten free, refined sugar free and so so good: your fur child will love this big healthy cookie ♡

Ingredients
Cookie
- 1/2 banana, mashed
- 1/4 cup carrot, grated
- 1 tbsp peanut butter, natural and unsweetened
- 3 tbsp oat flour
- tiny pinch of cinnamon
- 1/16 tsp baking soda, optional
Frosting
- 2 tbsp hung curd, whisked
Garnish
- 3 mango pieces, cut into flowers with cookie cutter
- soaked chia/basil seeds
- mint leaves
Instructions:
-
Ripen the banana (if it’s not already ripe): If you have a ripe banana, great! If not (like me), you can either:
• Microwave: Pierce the banana a few times with a fork and microwave it for about 30-60 seconds or until soft.
• Airfry: Place the whole banana (with peel) in the airfryer at 180°C for about 10 to 15 minutes. It’s done when the peel turns blackish-brown and a toothpick goes through easily- that means it’s soft and ripe inside. - Use half a ripe banana and mash it with a fork in a mixing bowl. Add grated carrot and mix well so the juices from the carrot release a bit.
- Mix in the rest of the ingredients: peanut butter, oat flour, cinnamon and baking soda till everything looks well combined. Oat flour is nothing but oats blended in a mixer till they turn into a powder, no need to buy it separately!
-
Place the dough on parchment paper and shape it into one big cookie, flattening it into a round shape.
• Oven: Bake at 180°C for around 15-20 minutes.
• Airfryer: Airfry at 180°C for 10-15 minutes. - While the cookie bakes, make the frosting by whisking hung curd until smooth. Keep it chilled in the fridge till ready to use.
- Let the cookie cool completely before frosting. Then spread the curd frosting on top.
- Decorating is the cutest part. I used three tiny mango flowers on top because my dog loves mangoes but I only added a little since she can’t have too much. For the flower centre, I used soaked basil seeds and a few fresh mint leaves to finish. It looked so so cute and she absolutely loved it!
