Ingredients
- 2 cups (500 ml) full fat milk
- ¼ cup (60 ml) fresh cream
- ⅓ cup (90 g) condensed milk, adjust to desired sweetness
- 3 tbsp (20 g) cocoa powder
- light grating of nutmeg
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- ½ cup (90 g) good quality dark chocolate
- cornstarch slurry: ½ tbsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water
Garnish
- marshmallows
Instructions:
- In a pot, heat milk and cream till they’re hot but not boiling.
- Add the condensed milk, cocoa powder, nutmeg and cinnamon. Give everything a good mix and let this simmer for about 3–4 minutes till the cocoa powder is fully dissolved and absorbed.
- Add the dark chocolate and mix till the chocolate melts completely. Let it simmer again for 2–3 minutes so the flavours deepen.
- Pour in your cornstarch slurry and keep mixing over low heat till the hot chocolate thickens to your desired consistency.
- Serve it hot in your cups with marshmallows on top and torch the marshmallows like I did if you like, enjoyy!
